Interactive RE

On Thursday, pupils in Yellow Class headed over to St Mary's church for an interactive RE lesson. Reverend Brian met them there, where he "baptised" a teddy and a doll explaining that this was how people joined the family of the church. Some of the children acted the part of Parents and Godparents and others acted as the congregation.

Some children were also able to recount the story of John the Baptist baptising Jesus in the River Jordan.

Learning about The Hajj

As a fitting end to our RE topic about The Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, Mrs Stoney's sister joined us in Green Class to talk about her own experience of the journey. The children had an opportunity to dress in the white clothes, which symbolise equality and purity, that are worn by all Muslims who take the Hajj.

The children listened attentively and asked some excellent questions. A big thank you to Fozzia for giving up her time to come and talk to us.
