The Fun Side of Snow

Following on from the difficulties caused this morning by the snow, the children were really able to enjoy themselves at playtime.
The children returned to class with rosy cheeks and beaming smiles, whilst the staff licked their wounds and removed snow from their ears!
It looks like the snow may linger for some time, so stay prepared!

Last Day of Term - SNOW!

Just how much more can happen this week!?
At the end of this morning's 'karaoke' Christmas, much excitement was in the air as the first few flakes of snow descended. By lunchtime, the earlier 'wet' snow had turned into rather large flakes. It seemed too good an opportunity to miss, so those that wanted to had five minutes fresh air. Rosy cheeks and broad smiles in abundance.

What a Difference a Day Makes...

Brrrr. Just when we all thought that winter was on its way out...
Children were greeted with a good covering of snow on Monday morning and this time it was quality snow! Rosy cheeks and chilly hands aplenty, the children made the most of the school field making 'balls' of substantial sizes.

Tuesday afternoon and this was the sight on the school field - slightly different to 24 hours earlier!

A Rather Chilly Start To 2009!

A number of children braved the 'Arctic' type conditions to make the most of the recent snowfall. The children that wanted to 'experience' the wonders of the white stuff got up to all sorts including igloo making attempts, snow castles and the good old-fashioned throwing it at the teachers.

The children were superbly well behaved and not a single child fell over, although Mr Mansell did have a rather slippery moment.

Children from Red Class ventured out to take the temperature of
the snow and looked at how long it took to melt once back inside.
They also looked at why in some areas it had melted, yet in others
it hadn't.

All-in-all, a very interesting, if somewhat chilly week. Who knows what the weather will bring us next week!?
