Christmas Carol Service

On Monday 14th December parents and children descended upon St Mary's Church in their droves for our Christmas Carol Service. The church was packed to bursting, with standing room only at the back.

The recorder group opened the service with a rendition of Coventry Carol and Good King Wenceslas.

Children in Red Class came dressed in costumes as angels...

...shepherds...

...Mary and Joseph...

..the three wise men...

...and the star.

We enjoyed some traditional carols and Red Class made a tableau of the Nativity during Little Donkey.

Each class gave a performance:

Red Class sang Ten Little Snowflakes...

Yellow Class sang While Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night...

...and Blue Class performed Good King Wenceslas on a variety of instruments.

Even the staff were on show, with a performance of Rise up Shepherd and Foller.

All of this was interspersed with readings and poems from the children and an address by Reverend Brian.

The evening was topped off with talk and laughter back at the school hall, along with a good dose of mulled wine, mince pies and Stollen.
