On a Brighter Note!

How are your sunflowers growing?
Better than mine? - PROBABLY

I took these photos this morning (can you see the bee?) and I won't use any camera tricks to make mine appear bigger than what they actually are!
My tallest sunflower now stands at a 'magnificent' 95cm. I don't think that it will be the tallest - but it is beautiful!

Remember to take photos of yours, measuring them accurately, and compile the information for when you get back to school in September - you may win a prize...
Good luck!

Why?

It was a rather sad scene which I was met with this morning. During the last couple of days, some people had decided to come onto the school grounds and maliciously damage parts of the school grounds.

One of the sheds on the playground had been forced open and part of the door simply tossed aside...
The lid for the water butt had been removed and 'disappeared'...
The gazebo frame had been damaged further...
The fence to the Conservation Area had been pulled away...
Sapling branches had been snapped...
The seating area around the pond had been broken...

The bird and bee boxes had been tossed into the pond along with many apples...

The police were called and when they arrived, they, like myself, were disappointed at what had happened. WHY?
The police will now be increasing their patrols in the area so that, hopefully, this will not happen again.
