Children in Need

This morning, in aid of Children in Need, pupils and staff dressed up in weird and wacky clothes for a donation. They also laid a copper trail around the school. The day was organised by one of our year six girls, and all the year six pupils became teachers for the morning, dividing between the three classes to cook biscuits with Red Class, make and test paper planes in Yellow Class, and develop games and animations using Scratch in Blue class. It was an interesting, and enjoyable, experience being a pupil for the morning in my own class and I think the year six children learnt a lot about the need for good organisation and an ability to think on your feet!

The children were collecting up and counting the coins during the afternoon, so we will hopefully be able to announce how much was raised in tomorrow morning's assembly.

Pyjama Party for Pudsey

Pudsey's Pyjama Party - organised by the School Council - with invaluable assistance from staff members, it looks from the faces to have been a resounding success!!! Total raised to be confirmed, but over £100.

Children in Need

The total raised from last week's fund raising activities for Children in Need now stands at £142.38. This is a tremendous achievement and is by far the largest amount that we have ever raised.
So, thank you to the children for their costumes and coppers, parents for your great cakes, School Council for your ideas and organisation and anyone else who made a contribution in terms of time, money or effort.

Children in Need

Children arrived today in an array of spotty outfits, with pockets laden with coins for a coin trail around the school, in aid of Children in Need.

Children in blue class spent their maths lesson engaged in a very practical activity - counting and sorting the money! Once we had weeded out the handful of foreign coins and those with George V on, we had a very respectable total in excess of £80.00 to donate to Children in Need.

A big thank you to everyone!

Children in Need

Welcome to the first post on our new school blog. We hope that you find this a useful area to find out what has been happening around the school.

This first post is all about the dotty goings on on Children in Need day. Children arrived at school in all manner of spotty outfits (and some of the staff looked a bit odd too!). One child even went to the great effort of getting into character as a dalmation, with a full fancy dress costume.
Children brought in copper coins and we made a trail which went twice around the school corridor!

When some boys from Blue class collected all the money in a bucket at the end of the day they could hardly lift it. We would like to thank everyone who made an effort to dress up and brought in a contribution. We will let you know soon, after poor Mrs Sayer has counted all of those coins, what the grand total came to.
